Our Local Authorities

 

Spring Hill High School is a Birmingham school with a national catchment. The school currently works with 12 local authorities. The number of local authorities varies annually according to the cohort.

 

 

 

Best Achiever Award

Two looked after children at Spring Hill High School and Thoughts of Others Ltd have been recognised by their local authorities on two separate occasions for outstanding progress.

In 2014 a student with the Solihull Local Authority received the prestigious Looked After Children Award for Solihull. In 2016 another student with the Bedfordshire Council Social Services receive the Best Achiever Award for Central Bedfordshire.

 

 

 

What is the Local Offer?

The Local Offer is a Local Authority’s publication of all the provision they "expect to be available across education, health and social care for children and young people in their area who have SEN or are disabled, including those who do not have Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.” (Section 4.1 SEND Code of Practice, January 2015) Section 30 of the Children and Families Act 2014, which came into force on 1 September 2014, defines and prescribes the content of a Local Offer.
