Stuart Court - Post 16 and Sixth Form

   

 

Number of Classrooms: Five (5). Four teaching spaces that can be used for 1:1 teaching and two spaces that are used for group teaching.

Student capacity on the site: Up to Fifteen (15). The site is organised for students to work 1:1, or in small groups.

Class size: Small group sizes of no more than five (5) students.

Co-Education: The site accommodates both boys and girls.

Mixed Ability: The site accommodates all ability ranges, but students MUST be sixteen years or older to be taught on this site.

Peer Interactions: Peer interactions are encouraged throughout the school day.

Curriculum: Each student has an individualised timetable which is agreed with them. They have access to all core subjects, all Humanities subjects, Modern Foreign Language (MFL), PE, ICT, Health and Social Care, PHSE, the Careers Steps Programme  and a wide range of ASDAN subjects.

Academic progress is extremely important, however a strong focus of the work done is on building confidence so that students can access independent living skills.  


Qualification that students achieve: GCSE, Functional Skills, NCFE and ASDAN

Access to Internal Professionals : Speech and Language Therapist, Music Therapist, Life Skills Coach, Counsellors, Impartial Careers Advisor

Other Facilities:

  • Kitchen - all meals are cooked on site.

  • Dining area - students are encouraged to have lunch in the dining area where they are taught to socialise and use social skills appropriately while having lunch.

  • A lounge area - an area used by students for relaxing and socialising during down time, before school, break and lunch.

  • The library

  • The medical room


Security

There are CCTV cameras right around the school.

Car Parking: Car parking space is very limited outside school sites and visitors are asked to take care when parking to ensure the safety of everyone arriving and departing.  Please be mindful that at Stuart Court we share the car park with our business neighbours and the front of the building is reserved for the customers of the dress shop. The parking spaces for the school is to the rear of the building. Please note that parking at the rear is very limited. If parking at the rear is full, you may have to seek parking on one of the nearby side roads.
